"Catwalk" First in the Country Walk Series - Simple Man by Evie
The Artwork
Some mornings, the countryside calls, but not everyone answers on foot.
Meet Simple Man's most beloved companion: one gloriously pampered ginger cat who has decided, quite firmly, that she will not be walking today. So Simple Man does what any devoted friend would do. He carries her.
As the two make their way through the countryside, she surveys the scenery from the comfort of his arms with the quiet dignity of someone who has never once questioned her own importance. A true princess on the Catwalk.
Catwalk is the first artwork in Evie's Country Walk Series, a collection of original watercolours following Simple Man through the landscapes, seasons, and small delights of everyday life.
The Story Behind the Simple Man Artwork
The Introduction was the first, a simple stick figure with a friendly wave and a big smile. It was the beginning of a community movement designed to support the small businesses and charities that hold our Southern Highlands villages together.
Here's how it works: The first print of each Simple Man is personally signed with Evie's hallmark purple signature, which travels from business to business and is available exclusively at whichever shop or small business holds it for a month. Evie donates the first framed print to the small business, which then donates 50% of the sale to a local charity. That's a 50/50 split, helping to boost the community.
NOTE: After a month, if the exclusive #1 Purple Signature doesn't sell at the designated business, it will go online, and a new one will make its way to the next business.
